VRM is a term originally coined by Doc Searls when at Harvard’s Berkman Institute. Designed as the opposite of CRM – Customer Relationship Management – Vendor Relationship Management asks if Corporations have CRMs to manage people – where are the people’s VRMs .. to manage the vendors?

VRM is 15 years old as a concept – we still don’t have VRMs!

More recently there is a transition from VRM to Me2B – another movement that has sprung out of the IIW, and seen as more easily understood term by a broader audience.
